Chosen Solution i recently had a power surge in my house while my mac pro 2012 tower was on. tower wont power up, but when i plug ac cord back in i get a red light flash and 5v light comes on when i press diagnostic button. is there anyway i can troubleshoot it my self to see whats the problem? i have some technical experience but not an expert...
Chosen Solution I was wondering if a 2015 MacBook Air logic board would fit and work in a 2013 mid MacBook Air system. They look the same size and screw hole fittings so I wanted to know if it’s possible. I don’t think many people have tried so you’ll be a trailblazer here :-} From my quick review I would say it should work, but is it worth it? Depending on the how worn your current system is it maybe better just to get the newer system (new or used)....

Chosen Solution The hood release when pulled will not open the hood latch. I know it has the safety catch up under the hood, but it won’t work unless I pull up on the release handle inside continuously while someone else releases it outside. I tried WD-40 on the latch. Do you think I need to replace the whole cable or is there some adjustment I could make? I would recommend replacing the whole cable....

Longer answer is that you really want to get the LCD Digitizer and Glass Assembly. It is still going to require some bowler tech adhesive (or any REAL 3M 300LSE, i.e. not from eBay). If you are lucky the assembly will come with some adhesive from factory....

Since you do not have the original button anymore, you will not have the touch ID function. There is no way around this. When the problem started, I used to leave it upside down on the counter, and it was ok the day after, but not anymore today. Chosen Solution one day i was on my way to somewhere when the water bottle in my bag opened and spilled on my quest 2 & controllers my quest & right controller was fine but my left controller hadn’t had the battery protector on so it got “more” water damage than the rest & now its infinitely pressed in before it also had stick drift becals of the water to but that gone away after time strangely so if you could pleas give me some possible that would be good thanks....
Chosen Solution i have connected to a wifi last night and next morning i woke up and my phone is not turn on. the last night had a thunderstom and my router was damaged. was that the reason? @dj007 since it was only connected over Wifi it is very unlikely that the thunderstorm had anything to do with it. It seems that the problem is caused by a broken cable. However, I have no idea which cable should I replace since the model used in the above blog is different from mine. I am using a MacBook pro in the early 2015 (A1502) model. I would connect an external USB keyboard to double check things....
Chosen Solution the pen works, but when you try to draw a line it leaves dots instead. the damage is on the tip of the pen and the very back. (the front part isn’t supposed to a circle btw) (its on in this photo) Honestly I doubt you could economically repair it especially if it is a knockoff. Probably best to buy another one.

Sometime you can successfully being it back to life with a 18650 battery. Only have it connected in small quick burst while the unit is unplugged. They will heat up pretty fast so 5 seconds bursts....

Question : I want to reflow gpu using heat gun and laser thermometer for measurement , what’s the best melting temperature for it? I saw people go up to 260 but I usually solder joints melt at 200-210 Celsius , so I’m wondering if lower temperature will reduced the risk of burning the gpu completely…...
Chosen Solution The lock that secures the ribbon (the plastic flap) broke off while trying to pry it up. Will it work without the lock? You could try to place teflon tape on top of the ribbon before plugging it in to try to allow the pins in the female connector to touch the lcd flex. Other wise you would need to send that out for service. Otherwise you’ll need to have it repaired professionally....
