Chosen Solution I went swimming and changed into my shorts after I got out without drying off. My phone was in my pocket so it was exposed to damp material but never got wet or in the water but later when I tried to use it the screen stayed black and wouldn’t turn back on. Im wondering if it can be repaired? Not an answer, but only an observation, I’m afraid: ‘Traditionally’ when electronic devices got wet, you could usually whip the battery out as fast as possible, and then dismantle the device enough to get air circulating, with it left in a warm, dry, place for a week or so, before putting the recharged batteries back and trying it....

Chosen Solution The camera on my Sony Xperia z3 compact is now showing a black screen and not let me take pictures or videos using the rear camera. The front camera is however working This may be a camera application cache problem. Clear the Camera cache in the settings>Application>camera. Then Clear the whole Application Cache in Settings>Storage and memory>internal memory>(swipe down to) Clear the shared application memory (or smthg like that)....

Chosen Solution So my GoPro fell in the ocean with the side part open. I can’t figure out how to take out the battery and I’ve already tried to turn it on. :) it is currently in rice. When can I take it out? Or am I screwed? Hi @shattemer , As you know water and electronics and electricity are not a good mix. The water causes corrosion and provides circuit paths for the electricity which were not in the camera’s operating design and could damage the components....

Also check to see if your credit card would have any sort of warranty on your purchase, especially since it was less than a year ago....

In a darkened room and with the computer on, shine a flashlight at an angle against the screen. See if you faintly see the desktop. If so it is your backlight. For any of those repairs you will have to pen your laptop and check the display connectors as well as the main board depending on what your findings are....

Chosen Solution when I press the power button the power light comes on along with the number lock light. The hard drive light flashes and then nothing. Any ideas @combatdad start by connecting an exteranl monitor and see if that shows anything. If so then you know you are having issues with your LCD display. If that does not work remove your batery, the AC power supply and your RAM module....

Chosen Solution Blowing fuses in my Morphy Richards steam iron Hi, Use a DMM’s (Digital MultiMeter - adequate ones available at larger hardware stores <$20) Ohmmeter function to to test the iron to see if the heater element is faulty (short circuit), if the power is connecting to the chassis of the iron or some other fault such as a faulty cord perhaps. Disconnect the iron from the power and place the Ohmmeter’s test leads across the two power pins of the plug at the end of the iron’s power cord and check the resistance value shown by the meter....

Chosen Solution Kitchen Aid 550 HD - the bowl holder does not stay up or lock in the up or mixing position tightly. It sags about a 1/2 inch and therefore the mixer blades do not hit the bottom of the bowl as they should. Did the dime test and tried to adjust, but it is adjusted as far as it can go and there is way too much flop like the gears or track is stripped....

Chosen Solution My phone is unresponsive on the screen, but the home button and Power button still work fine. My problem is the cord/cable that connects to the top of the screen above the motherboard is sliced. I’m not entirely sure what it is called but is it replaceable? And can someone give me the exact name of the cable? You would need a new screen.

Chosen Solution Looking for replacement screen for vizio M70-C3 TV I would not recommend replacing the screen for this device due to the cost involved in aquiring the part, if it were just a board that was broken I would be a little more apt to do it, but the cost alone for a screen is just too much to consider replacing. In most cases for something as large as a television screen the LCD/Screen is not economical to replace....

Chosen Solution I replaced keyboard, battery, fan…and trackpad ribbon cable and now only plugin keyboard and mouse are working. Trackpad not recognizing finger touches. please advise This series uses a daisy chain approach for the keyboard and touchpad. Basically, we have the keyboard at the end of the chain which plugs into the touchpad and then the signals for both travel up the touchpad cable to the logic board. So replacing the touchpad cable won’t fix this!...

Chosen Solution Hi all,I recently replaced my MacBook’s battery with a replacement part from iFixit EU. I installed the battery just fine and it seems to work ok for the most part. However, when my battery pack reaches about 2-3% the macbook turns off entirely and when I plug it in, let it sit for a bit and hit the power button the laptop boots up like if it was powered off, with all the apps reopening from the beginning....

Chosen Solution Everything working on phone except for retrieving or sending email, wi-fi signal strong. Haven’t been able to load my email since 4/11/17; at that time it was working fine. Have turned off my phone numerous times and have removed the battery. Check to make sure your email is set to refresh often. Check both Email and Gmail apps. Download “Blue Mail”. Configure it as your main email app. It works better than the one built in to Android....

Chosen Solution hello my external hard drive isnt connecting , i was using to watch a movie and then i just wanted to take something off from the table infront of me with my mac on my lap and external hard drive beside it , when i stood up i forgot to pick my hard drive up and it fell , it wasnt long fall or hard and it got disconnect from the usb and now its not connecting to my mac and when i unplug and plug it , it just make this beeping sound and the light is on and after couple of minutes the beeping stops but the light is still on and still not connecting....

I had a mac laptop that fried itself a few weeks ago. The graphics card is kaput, and apparently there are issues with the hard drive too. I took it to the Genius Bar, and he said they no longer can repair it. He also said that I could still run the fried laptop in Target Disk Mode and transfer over my files to a new computer (an iMac) using a Thunderbolt cable....
