Chosen Solution Some keys not working on keyboard - seem to be in two to three different areas of 4-5 keys per area. Other work fine? @todkru connect a USB keyboard and see if it works ok. Most likely it is the keyboard on your computer that requires replacement. Also a different model, this video and these guides should get you there If something had poured on your keyboard like water, it certainly won’t work....

So I tried to fix the charger but while I was trying to fix it I held the power button on the Mac but the “needs to be charged” icon doesn’t appear . It’s just a blank dark screen. Is this normal? It is charging though, and the macsafe color changes when performing a smc reset. I’ve tried all sorts of Smc reset, pram, not of that worked. Actually the first time I did the Smc reset, the fan went on, my phone that was plug on the USB started to charge as well, at that time I was confident I could get it to switch on, but nothing happened....
Chosen Solution Received a macbook pro 2017 model A1708 EMC, it turns on with fans spinning and a backlight comes on, but no display or apple logo. It is receiving the correct amount of power. It does not display any image on external monitor. Caps lock key displays LED green light. Is this a motherboard issue, software issue, or just needs a new top lid assembly? Customer provided me pictures of before the issue, image started to go away after time....
Chosen Solution During normal usage (surfing internet / email / etc) not connected to power adapter, the screen went black. For the life of me, I can’t remember if everything stopped at that moment, or if it was just the screen, and in turn if I forced shutdown or if it shutdown on it’s own. I hit the power button to boot and I hear the chime, but I do not get any backlight on the screen, no backlight on the keyboard, no lights (cap’s lock) on the keyboard....
Chosen Solution Last December my Mac shut down and gave me the flashing folder. Command + D diagnostics gave me “There may be a problem with a storage device” and it would not boot. macOS nor Bootcamp would appear on the options list. Then an hour later it started working, and unworking, etc. It would randomly freeze up and shut down and either restart or give me a flashing folder. The SSD is 1TB and in perfect health....
Chosen Solution Hello. So recently i noticed that my macbook pro started turning on by itself. Everyday, i go to sleep, and i am waken up in the morning by the apple chime, when the lid is closed. I checked the last restart cause in terminal, and it reports that my computer restarts everyday at 11:46. Its really weird, i checked my schedule settings and everything that would make it turn off or log out by itself is not enabled....

Chosen Solution my laptop ASUS ROG G531GT won’t turn on, when i take it to a repair shop, he checked it and the chipset was emitting smoke, “it’s neither GPU nor CPU but it’s a chipset” he said I don’t know, the biggest square chip on the circuit board is 3. Chosen Solution My asus is a k55a and it continually reboots when it suppose to kick it a windows 10 troubleshoot after a while and if I can get there i can finish resetting my laptop. I have windows installed on a flash drive for backup, didn’t know if that mattered. all I can pull up is the Aptio Setup Utility but there is no csm option or Secure boot control....

I try ebay but no luck. kenney3295, they are around but they are getting harder to find. You do want to check places like this one. Otherwise I’d check mouser.com or digikey.com as well as many other places for a DB9 connector. Take the measurements from yours and see if you can match it up....
Chosen Solution I’ve fully charged my battery and when I try to open it, the green light flashes (as normal) but it doesn’t open and when I see in the view finder, it indicates that it hasn’t charged and the battery is empty even though I’ve just fully charged it. P.S: I’ve tried another battery and it’s the same have you tried using another charger to charge the batteries and checking the voltage levels in the batteries to see if they are actually charged....

Attempt to reflash a software update through itunes. choosing update instead of restore will retain your data if successful. 2.) Replace cameras. Depending on which side it fell on is which camera I would replace....
Chosen Solution Will turn over but wont start Go to a car mechanic You need 3 things to start a car. Fuel, Air and Spark. If it is spark, since nothing happens, it isn’t a single spark plug or wire. Check what is common to all the plugs. If it is fuel, it could be no gas, fuel pump, fuel filter. It could also be something common to all injectors. If it is air, it could be a VERY dirty air filter....

Hi @light_mythical , Have you checked that the fan cable is still securely connected to the motherboard after your cleaning efforts, you didn’t say? If the fan cable connection is secure, if you have a DMM (digital multimeter) use it to test if the fan motor is OK by measuring between the red and black fan cable wires at the cable plug connector for resistance (or continuity), when it is disconnected from the motherboard....

As soon as I am home I use hair drier and put it in a container with rice and keep it for 2 days…today I charge and try to turn it on but its not working…i can only see a logo on screen and it keeps on vibrating…have called apple service center and explained everything that happened they told me their is still a possibility to fix it but the amount I need to pay is almost half of the amount of the unit....
