I had the same problem, the top plate with the buttons came off. Then after 2nd fall I could get to the gear that turns the light. After following the guide here I think that your problem is that the ribbon cable that is up in the gear assembly has come off....

I took out the back cover removed the fan but realized i forgot to take the battery cable out so the laptop turned on then i shut it off through the power button and took the battery cable out took the fan out replaced the speaker then i had somewhere to go so i left the mac open for an hour or two then came back put it all back together but not it does not turn on....
Chosen Solution Hi, I spilled water on my macbook and now it doesn’t charge. However is does work when plugged in. I took it apart and cleaned everything. I noticed that the water damage indicator on the magsafe port pcb is red. I am wondering will replacing this part help? My guess is if it was broken the motherboard would not receive any power at all. Whereas now it is working from the wall....

Chosen Solution Okay so I just did a logic board replacement. I installed the 2012 a1286 logic board in my 2010 mbp.(it fits) the problem is that when I start it up, it starts to boot properly(apple logo, progress bar), then suddenly shuts down during the boot. already tried booting into verbose, but it goes fine for a while then turns off too quickly for me to see anything. A thing that I noticed was that it turns off after variable times, like 1 time it went for about 15-20 secs but the next it turned off after 1sec....

Chosen Solution I am a tinkerer and I have been playing around with my Moto G5s Plus XT1805 software. After flashing a custom ROM, I have lost my IMEI, therefore I cannot connect to any network. I have tried reverting to factory firmware many times, but the same result. I know I have voided my warranty by unlocking my bootloader, but I do hope the IMEI can still be written somehow....

Chosen Solution When I plug my headphones in I can still hear the sound come out through the headphones but it also comes out through the top of the phone somewhere. Not the ordinary speakers at the bottom but it seems like it’s coming out of the black thing under the front facing camera above the screen. This happens when I’m listening to anything like music, YouTube, and Netflix. I try to unplug and replug the headphones to see if it will be any different but the sound still comes out of the top just softer....

Overall, the calculator still functions fine, but that sliver of the screen doesn’t display anything. It appears that the LCD screen is cracked. Can one purchase and replace just the LCD screen?
