I charged my phone battery got to 50% then i went out. By the evening my phone went dead. So got home. And charged. But has refused to turn on.. Theres no water damage. And only had the phone for about 4 months. So its not old..
Try booting it in to recovery mode by holding down power, home and volume up all at the same time, if you can get into recovery mode they you can try rebooting the phone from there.
