I had my S8 screen recently replaced by a authorised Samsung Service Center. Shortly after that, I have an issue with the sound echoing on the other end. The person on the other end will hear an echo of his voice, while it is normal on my end. Within 2 weeks, I sent it back to the same Service Center to check. They came back to me by stating that my mic has issues, and the charging port needs to be replaced. My question is, how is the charging port related to the mic? According to the service center, the mic is connected to the charging port, and replacement of it will fix the voice echo.

There is a microphone module on the charging port daughter board. When a Samsung service centre does a screen replacement they use replacement screens that are preassembled with frame, battery and charging port already installed with the part. The defective part is the charging port assembly as they said which should be covered under warranty from repair.
