A few days ago I was using my ASUS UX305F and I plugged in my charger but it didn’t charge. I thought that the laptop was already dead so i plugged it in and waited a few minutes before using the laptop again. When I tried to turn on the laptop, it showed the ASUS logo and then it die again in like a boot loop. After a while of trying to turn it on, the laptop just completely died and it became unresponsive. The charger was working the day before before i tried to plug it in but it no longer seemed to charge the laptop. I watched a few youtube videos and it said to hold down the power button to remove the static electricity in the laptop but that didn’t work. When I tried to hold down the power button the battery of the laptop was still inside because I don’t have the tools at the moment to open it up. Another video said that I could ground it by plugging in the charger into the laptop and putting the charger prongs on the floor. That turned the laptop back on again for a few seconds and then it died again. At the moment I have the laptop unplugged just to be safe.

Hi @dontheduck You would need to open the laptop and check the DC-In jack using an Ohmmeter or a voltmeter to see if both input connections i.e. centre pin and outer ring connector of the DC-In jack, have continuity through the jack i.e. from input to output. What mostly happens when they go faulty is the centre pin breaks internally in the jack itself and the only way to know is to prove it electrically as you can’t see it. Here’s a video that shows how to replace it but first you would have to prove whether it was the problem or not. That’s why I said to test the charger to make sure that it was working and supplying the necessary voltage. This is done by placing a voltmeter across the charger plug inner and outer connector and make sure that is shows that 19V DC is present. If the charger is OK then you have to prove that the DC-In jack is OK. If the laptop’s doesn’t show it’s charging and the charger and the DC-In jack are OK then there’s a problem on the motherboard and this will be harder to find. The assumption regarding the problem with the laptop is that it won’t start because the battery is now flat because it couldn’t be charged and also that the laptop won’t start on the charger either because no power is being supplied to the laptop as evidenced by no charging light with the charger connected
