Hello, I bought an iphone off ebay, the seller said it had a software issue, and since I thought I may be able to fix it, I bought it. When it arrived, it was in a recovery - (connect to itunes). I downloaded the latest iOS, latest itunes, and connected the phone, and tried to restore using shift + select iOS. It would get stuck at “Waiting for iPhone” and then give an error 4005. What I have tried: Removed front camera Removed LCD, Digitizer Removed Rear Camera Tried DFU, Tried Hard Reset Tried another system (Win XP, Win 8, Win 10) Tried another USB, same problem I saw somewhere to remove the compass ic, or change battery, but I dont know how to or have a spare battery at the moment. I found a software - “ReiBoot” to take me out of recovery loop, now the phone is stuck at |Apple Logo| Will not turn off, or hard reset or go into DFU. It stays on apple logo till battery dies. Please how do I fix it? Phone was bought in July according to IMEI, logic board shouldnt be faulty I think. Please, I may have wasted 110USD.

Hmm. 4005 is an unknown error. Looks like you tried a bunch of things. You could try a force restart How to Force Restart an iPhone 5 You could also try disconnecting and then reconnecting the battery, I don’t think you need a new one iPhone 5c Battery Replacement

May have suffered from water damage, i would inspect the motherboard for any corrosion and clean the board with iso alcohol of atleast 91%, take a soft toothbrush and clean brush the board.

It has now happened to me on 2 devices. Ipad pro and Iphone 6. I took the Ipad into Best Buy and they have some secret software that fixed the issue. This happened after being prompt to update Itunes. APPLE fix this problem
