I just got the camera and the first set of film came out black so I thought the film was ruined. I bought a new pack and put that in and it still comes out black. The flash goes off and I had it on the right settings.
I’m having the same issue and unfortunately I don’t have an answer but I would contact customer support so you can replace either film or the camera if you are eligible for the warranty. Thats what I am currently doing and I wish you all the best!
I had this problem!! And I couldn’t find the solution online. It wasn’t the shutter in my case. There is a piece of black tape inside the camera, above the lens, blocking the exposure. Peel it off- problem solved for me. Hope it works for you too!
I have seen people who had this problem with the instax 8 say it was due to a black piece of tape above the lens that messes with the exposure so if you find something similar try removing that!
