I was given an HP 2000-299WM note book. I had to reset the password by going into bios. This went well and I entered a new password. Now the computer goes straight to a blue screen administrator password request screen. I typed in the new password and it says it is incorrect. I then shut down the laptop and tried to enter bios (F10 on this machine). The machines refuses to acknowledge and goes straight to the password screen. I tried F8 for a selective start up option and it still goes directly to the password page. I shut down and restarted several times trying each of the F buttons with the same results. I cannot access the BIOS to reset the password. Is this machine gone? Can I fix this or just recycle the computer? HP support refuses to discuss it because they claim I am trying to get instructions to circumnavigate the security. they completely ignore the fact that I am telling them I can not access BIOS and I know how to reset the damned password. HP is like micro ft, their customer service sucks and they are of no help at all.
Have a look at this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpiGUojt… Update (08/07/2019) Are you saying you screen is black all the time??
