Hello everybody, i had a problem with my iphone 8: the logic board got damaged and the phone wasn’t working properly. So i decided to buy a new one on aliexpress with the home button included. Since i had to wait 1 month to get it, i used to turn on the phone and just do something with it for fun ( using the front camera or going into settings). The home button was working good but a week before getting the new logic board, the original home button stopped working. I had no idea what to do with that. Once i replaced the home button and the logic board (they were paired, so i could have the touch id feature). My phone said: unable to activate touch id on this iphone, and the home button was’t responding too. I tried replacing the new one with the old and still got no feedback from the button, so i placedback the old one and activated the virtual home button. After having the phone turned on for 25 minutes, the home button started working only for some minutes (in those minutes i tries configuring the touch id and it wasn’t giving me the error anymore, but the home button couldn’t scan the fingerprint). I am now stuck in this situation and i don’t know what to do. I tought that maybe i have broken the flex cable to connect the home button to the screen, but it has no damage sign. Anybody can help me out?

Hello Gulio, it looks like a standard fault when opening the phone - a broken or torn screen signal tape - the longer one is responsible for the screen lighting and the touch function. shorter one for the function of the Home button. You probably have a micro-crack here, caused by the wrong way to remove the screen or the connector itself. Screen replacement usually helps. The cost is quite low - around $ 14-15 if you do it yourself.
