My Fitbit Does Not Retained Its Charge Fitbit One

I received a Fitbit last Christmas (2013). The battery does not stay charged. I have cleaned the connection but that still doesn’t correct the problem

FitBit says that the battery is a nicad rechargeable that must be discharged to 20% of its’ capacity before charging and but be used every day to obtain the 30 month expected life. They only replace a unit that is less than 12 mos. old. As yet, there is no way to change the battery even here on iFixIt.

Holds charge for 1-1 1/2 day only.
