My brand new DS4 controller doesn’t charge even if it’s plugged into a USB port at an outlet. When plugged in, the controller emits an orange amber light, different from the yellow amber light that it usually emits (tested it out with my other old controller and can definitely notice a difference in color). When I check back into my PS4 using that controller, it’s battery life hasn’t increased at all, more like decreasing like it’s being drained while charging. I had to buy a new controller after my old one was acting up, and the first one had this same issue so I went in for an exchange, and turns out this controller has the same exact issue. The controller can still turn on the PS4 via the logo button, and I’ve tried charging from the PS4 port itself, but to no avail. Please help!

Have you tried using a different charger? The difference in light may be just the difference in the v1 and the v2 controller. This is really strange and it looks like the controllers are being fried since I doubt that every single one is faulty. Try plugging one into a PC and testing it out and is the controller usable while charging?
