I have the Xbox one controller model 1537 I believe. Its not wanting to turn on and shows a dim light. If I plug It in or out a battery pack in and click the middle button it shows a dim light that varies on how bright it wants to be. After that it instantly turns off if you release your finger from the button.

Have you tried another battery? If the battery is starting to go flat it will cause the controller to do that.

Shim the little metal flap on the back of the battery pack. This pushes it out so it makes a solid connection to the row of pins on the controller. I used a flat blade and pried it out a little and shimmed with folded aluminum foil. Has worked for a week without issues.
