My wife and I own a small Cell Phone Repair Shop in Aus. We were recently approached by a large company here to fix 150+ ipad digitizers. They did not want to proceed with the repairs as they were expecting them cheaper than what we could do. They proceeded to tell me they would be donating them to charity etc. I offered to buy some of them. We purchased 21 in total from ipad 6 through to ipad 9 series. We have repaired all of them and had minimal issues(a couple without touch ID etc). We have been selling them off however there are 3 devices that are Icloud Locked. Speaking with the IT manager at this company he has informed me that they are locked by 3 individual staff who no longer work there. There were 2 others that were locked but they were able to unlock them for us. Is there anyway to remove the icloud/activation lock via a jailbreak process etc?. I don’t want to sell these 3 if i jailbreak them, i will just give them to our kids to use. But i would like to get some use out of them as we have fully repaired them and they work just fine. Any help is appreciated.

Hi There are some work arounds but I’m not sure about the jailbreaking side of things There is a method of having someone go onto a server and disables something on apples side of things but there aren’t many people that will do it legitimately and you could scammed by them so I don’t really recommend them Apart from that there aren’t any options that would be worth it for the price You could go into the board repair side if things and replace the SoC and some other things but at that point you are risking breaking the whole device and if you haven’t done the micro soldering side of things it isn’t recommended until you have enough experience Here is a video on having it done though https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=v_kI69Z8V0… This isn’t video isn’t for a iPad but it’s a similar process on the board side of things If I were you I would sell the iPads off on eBay for parts as people would probably pay a little extra knowing that they are fully working and just iCloud locked as they could get lots of valuable parts like the logic-board and housings out of them But that’s your decision and it’s up to you:-) Hopefully this helps Any questions please ask Thanks:-)

Sadly, there is no means to unlock iCloud locked devices with the last four versions of iOS and iPadOS. All of the holes these folks figured out have been sealed up. FYI - The access these folks gave you was still very limited! Basically, a working cellphone and that’s about it. You can’t create an Apple account to access the App Store or access iTunes. Of course you could replace the logic board with a clean one, but is it worth it?
