Mouse goes to sleep every 2-3 seconds, how do i change that?
I just repaired a different brand of 2.4G wireless mouse with maybe the same problem. My mouse would light up for 2-3 seconds and then shut down completely. So, I figured I would open it up to take a look. The circuit board is very simple. Two ICs, a few resistors, a few capacitors, and an LED light, etc. There was no obvious damage or burns, and the capacitor’s tops weren’t popped. But since the capacitors take a few seconds to charge, I guessed they might be the problem. I removed and tested the caps, and one had a high equivalent series resistance (ESR) reading. Actually, if you don’t have an ESR meter, just change the caps with the same values. They are very inexpensive. I changed three electrolytic capacitors, and one small ceramic disc capacitor for good measure. The cost for me maybe 50 cents. Now it works great! Actually, buying a new mouse isn’t too expensive, but this is more fun. And while searching for answers on my mouse, all the answers pointed to software issues, which I knew wasn’t the problem here because the light just turned off. Good luck.
