it started with the original usb c port burning out. the burnt smell by the usb c port was very noticeable. and the macbook stopped charging or turning on (the battery was already dead before the burnt). I bought an usb c port and replaced it. the computer booted up. i figured i fixed it and connected the battery, then the usbc port got burnt out again. could the problem be with the battery? or something else? i know very little about fixing computers, dunno if the usbc port was just slowly burning out while the cable was plugged in and the battery had nothing to do with it.

Well that puts a wrinkle into it ;-{ Time to get your system to someone with deeper skills and the needed tools to get into your system to power it up.
