I took this machine to an authorized Mac repair centre. The guy didn’t run tests, but he looked into the Kernal Panic Log and he says that the logic board is on its way out.He asked if the thermal paste has ever been updated. I said “no”.I’m wondering if you guys think opening it up and blasting it with some air to clean everything AND also replacing the thermal paste would solve my problem and give this MacBook a significantly extended lifespan.Currently, the Google Chrome browser often crashes as well.

While blowing out the dust and debris is important, Without deeper details its hard to aim you to the needed action/s. Also which version do you have the older Unibody or the newer Retina display model? Given your systems age I would suspect the battery needs replacing.
