Chosen Solution

Hello, My Magsafe 1 85W broke down. I have the idea to desolder the cord from the magsafe pcb and attach it to my regulated dc power supply (max 30V & 10A). I would set it up to 16.5V… is that possible at all? I know there is a lot of stuff in those magsafes. Thanks! Update (11/09/2017) No i want to hook that cord up to this:

If you take the battery out and connect the power supply through the logic board directly then it makes sense. This is how a tech works on systems. It’s not very practical from a use perspective.
