Hi, My macbook 13’’ mid 2010 was having problems charging, it wouldnt charge past 10%. Being an old laptop I assumed it was the battery and I changed it, but the problem persisted. I noticed the power jack was pretty busted so I ordered a new one, opened the notebook and exchanged the piece. It all seemed fine, the charging light was back to normal, but now the computer wont turn on. I’ve tried putting the old piece back and replugging all the ports and stuff off and on again, but the notebook wont turn on for nothing. Does anyone have any ideas? Have I fried my motherboard just by changing the piece?

Try resetting the SMC. Here’s how: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295 Update To get that cable fully seated, use a piece of electrical tape to pull it in instead or trying to push it in. Make sure the little lock is in the up position before pulling on it. Once fully in, lock it down.
