I have a MacBook pro mid 2015 core i7 with a 256GB SSD with macOS Mojave installed on it. It was running fine until a few days back it started to freeze up. Nothing would work so I had to shut it down completely by holding power key for 10 seconds But with the passage of time within 2,3 days it started to hang every day within an 5 mins of turning it on. I can’t shut it down, even when it’s not hanged. Tried to update but can’t as it shows but can’t do the updateTried command +R optionTried to format the disk repair the OS done everything but still nothing happensTried command +SUnmount -uw This command but at the end the Mac wont shut down It still runs but hangs in the middle with a round rainbow colour cursor which can be moved but can’t open anything. Update (05/01/2020) I tried everything, the SSD won’t format either in Disk Utility or in Single User Mode, it works fine in Safe Mood When I turn it on it gets stuck on grey screen sometimes it turns on but sometimes its stuck. When I shut it down it shuts down but not completely turns off everything but stuck at black screen Tried installing software through a bootable USB but that won’t work, also It shows two updates it’s currently on Mojave If I update Mojave version update it shows updating software and stuck at bar At first command +R was working but now nothing happens. Nothing appears on any command. It works fine in safe mood but now it won’t go to safe Mode too

Do you have a second Mac and a means to connect the two using a Thunderbolt cable. At this point we need to completely scrub down the drive using Target Disk Mode or we need to create a bootable USB thumb OS install drive. Understanding the Applications for Target Disk Mode Or How to create a bootable macOS Mojave installer drive using the image from here How to upgrade to macOS Mojave Jump down to Step 4 for the link. What you have already downloaded likely won’t work If you’ve got an old macOS install image, it will probably stop working today
