Hi everyone, I have a 2011 macbook pro, and recently bought a new charger because the old one was past its sell-by date. The charger is fine, it’s the laptop that’s not working well. The problem is that the magnetic port does not charge well when i connect it, and it needs a lot of fiddling and messing around until it charges and even then it turns off sometimes. Do you guys have a new charging port for this computer? Thanks !

PowerbookMedic lists a variety of MagSafe boards, and specifies a different Apple part number for 2010 17" MagSafe boards (922-9288), but does not list either a part number or an item for the 2011 17" laptops. It’s possible that a 2010 MagSafe board will fit, but it’s hard to know without more information. If you’ll look at the About This Mac screen and identify the actual model of MacBook Pro we’re talking about, we’ll be able to offer more help.
