My MacBook display started flickering some days ago, but it works fine when I connect it to an external display (both the display and the mac screen works fine). It also works when I find the right position to the screen or when I put some pressure in the right spot of the screen edge. I thought it was a problem in the flat cable from the graphic card to the display, but why does it work when connected to an external display? Is there anything I could do to “simulate” a display is connected so I can use it normally?

You likely have a ribbon cable failure to the backlight . Apple has an extended warranty program for your systems display 13-inch MacBook Pro Display Backlight Service Program I would start there.
