Hey, I spilled water by accident on my M1 Pro Macbook 16 inch. I dried it and left it suspended for a week to let the water leave. Everything still functions as it should minus the battery. The laptop works when plugged in, but the battery does not charge, so the second the cable is unplugged, the mac instantly dies. Would a battery replacement suffice? Also checking the device diagnostics twice reveals that all other functions are fine minus the battery, but Apple charges $2000 for the repair as they want to replace every component.

Well … Right now there is no 3rd party battery as the system is too new! It often takes a good six months to a year before they become available. So you really don’t have a choice here ;-{ Off to Apple to get it repaired.
