Forgot to plug my MacBook Pro in last night so the battery went flat. When I plugged it in, the light on the charging cable went straight to green instead of amber. I have tried resetting the SMC. Nothing. No sound from the laptop at all. The battery was replaced 2 weeks ago so I’m not sure why this is happening. Any solutions?

Did you have the battery replaced by at an apple store or an authorised apple repair centre? It seems like either the battery is at fault or something is amiss due to the repair process that was undertaken. Dependent on your confidence in taking the bottom panel off of your machine, you might want to try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery manually (MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Early 2011 Battery Replacement). it only requires the removal of some standard phillips head screws. You may also want to try powering the machine on with the battery disconnected and the charger still connected, to see if the battery is the true culprit.
