So I just repaired my MBA with a display assembly that I bought off ebay. I followed the ifixit guides and everything went pretty smoothly. I turned it on and it booted up fine with the display working perfectly. But after around 2 mins of usage the screen and the keyboard backlight went dark. I’ve then tried to power cycle it, reset SMC, PRAM etc and it won’t boot up again. I can hear the fan occasionally spinning though. The weird part is I then stripped it down and put it together again to ensure all connectors are in properly. Once again it booted for 2 mins and then black all over again and won’t boot. It seems somehow taking it apart lets me boot it for mins again! If anyone has any ideas here it would be very helpful, thanks!

Hi Matt The issue occured because you must of damaged one of the key componets which allows the screen to turn on , the ram might installed incorrecly so please try to re-insert and see if does work and if doesn’t its a hardware fault.
