Found an old MacBook that was tossed, runs fine while plugged in. Battery not recognized (shuts off instantly after an unplug). Replacement laptop battery of same model didn’t work. Tried smc reset to no avail. Edit: I have removed the battery and plugged it back in as well.
What is the light on your mag-safe charger doing when the battery is plugged in? Can you get a history on the machine and its problems?
