I have noticed an issue with my 13” MacBook Air, the screen would freeze and then would have to hard reboot the device to clear. The problem occurs only when Thunder port (for HDMI connected external display) and power are connected simultaneously. If I unplug any of these, the problem is never seen, The systems OS is up to date. Any pointers here would be appreciated! Also, the same connector when used on another Macbook Air same as mine, does not create any problem.
I suspect you have a AC outlet power issue or you have a fake MAgSafe charger which is mis-wired internally. Get an AC outlet checker like this one AC Outlet Receptacle Tester 110V to check the outlets wiring. I strongly recommend you use a good surge protecter or better yet a UPS making sure all of your peripherals are also using these outlets.
