Hi, I just bought a second Mac Pro 5,1 3.33Ghz 6-core to replace my failed 5.1 12 core. Can I replace the RAM in the 6 core (16Gb - SMT 4x4GB DDR3 PC10600 1333Mhz ECC TS) with the RAM from my old 12 core? (32Gb - Hynix 4x8GB 2Rx4 PC3L 10600R-9-10-E1) Thanks for the help!
It all depends on the CPU chipset and whether or not the RAM while work. If the chipsets match then you’ll be fine. Check out this older article I found. It might help. Best of Luck!
