I have a 2008 Mac Pro that I’m trying to install Samsung 860EVO SSDs in. They are recognized over USB in a dock, but I’ve yet been unable to get them recognized when plugged into the SATA ports. A Toshiba spinning drive works just fine over SATA. Does anyone have any experience with this? EFI update is current. Could it be the SATA cables?
Format it GUID in your dock and you should be fine. I have had no problems with these dives in both my 2008 and 2009 Mac Pros. What system are you running?
