I’m having some issues and thought to ask if you’d know any idea what’s going on… I have a 2015 MacBook Pro running Catalina which up until about a month ago ran extremely smoothly… The problem is while running the computer will indefinitely freeze and turn off. Sometimes even during start up. I’ve reset PRAM and SMC and also upgraded to see if it was Catalina, I wiped the computer clean and a full hard drive reset. I still have issue with a clean and empty computer… I’m getting no issues during diagnostics either. Sometimes the computer will go without shutting down for hours and sometimes I have trouble even getting it to turn on. Any idea what internally could be causing this issue??? In desperate need of help! Thanks in advance!
Freeze ups are hard to identify root cause as it could be either hardware or software. So starting from the simplest issue and working down Do you have enough free space on your drive? Also make sure the MagSafe power adapter cable and connector are in good shape a worn cable or dirty contacts can effect the batteries charging. Have you made sure all of your apps are upto date. Are you auto loading any or running too many concurrently? While we all love to be about to slide from one app or web page to another the more you have open uses more and more resources. Make sure check your user account Login Items and any scripts you might have running. Then using the Migration Assistant restore your user accounts and Apps from the App Store and any others which you have and your data.
