Big lightning storm the other night - fried AC control board and a few AC adapters for small electronics. TV was wall mounted and plugged directly into the socket without surge protection (i know, i know) No power LED, no backlights, no response at all. I’ve taken the back off and inspected the boards for burn damage or swollen components. Tested fuse for continuity. Tried power cord from another TV. What should I try next?
Hi @jeffthewhiteguy Measure for any DC voltages on the cable connector going to the mainboard. Measure between an earth point on the power board (screwhead) and the pins. One should have the standby voltage that goes to the mainboard, that turns on the LED to indicate power is available. Hopefully it may be marked as to which one. If no voltages at all the power board has a problem. Be safety aware as there is exposed lethal AC power on the board close to where you will be testing
