Panasonic Viera TV TC65fx800c’’’ TV is barely 2 years old. Last night, TV with audio but lower 1/3 of screen is black. Then the remaining screen fades out slowly from left to right. Can it be fixed? Update (06/22/2021)
see attached video Update (06/22/2021) No picture is visible. However, can see light mostly in the corners coming from the TV. Waiting for Panasonic to follow up before we take it down. We have the tools and also suspected a board issue. Still have sound, for now…☹️Ok
Robin Bownes what you are describing is most likely backlight related but it will depend on how it fades and what it looks like once it is faded. We would have to see what this all looks like. If it is the backlight then yes it can be fixed. If it is not than it is most likely a panel issue and that will make things a bit more difficult. Post some pictures with your QUESTION so that we can see what you see. Adding images to an existing question Update (06/22/2021) That actually looks like a panel error. Let us know if your TV still has the sound (re-read your question and you did say it has audio so disregard:-). Once it has totally dimmed, shine a flashlight at an angle against the screen. See if you can make out the picture faintly. The bottom 1/3 looks like a Gate driver issue on the LCD driver board. It may be time to start taking it of the wall and have a look at the inside of the TV. Let us know if you are up to it. You need some basic hand tools and a simple multimeter
