Chosen Solution

Hi, My loudspeaker is not so loud. I may or may not have spilt pasta sauce on it at a party. Should I take it apart and clean it, replace the speaker shield, or not bother and just replace the loudspeaker? What the best way to clean it if that all it takes? Sorry, I am a bit of a newbie. I don’t want to muck around with it too much if I don’t have to. Thanks :)

Hi Teri-Anne, Loud speaker softness is mostly an effect of dirt that slowly piles up through the small openings on the loud speakers. The fact that you suspect spilling pasta sauce is also something to consider. Suggested solution: Get a soft brush and carefully clean the speakers by inserting the brush pointers inside the speakers and then try to shake out the dirt as you clean. If that doesn’t help, then the effect could be sticky onto the speakers front affecting the sound. This will require disassembling the phone, taking out the speakers and cleaning them. This Guide will help. Good Luck!

Teardown and clean it to have a try. Here is a vidwo teardown iPhone 6s plus.
