Chosen Solution

After hitting the power button to turn the tv on, a loud pop sound came from the back. After that, the tv did not turn back on, but still has power. Took the back panel off and took pictures, and it seems as there was some type of burn residue. If anyone could please give me some suggestions. Thank you.

Aurora Meraz looks like one your ceramic capacitors had a catastrophic failure (the blue thing right next to the soot) Since you did not tell us the model for your TV and the numbers on the power board are to small to read, only solution we can offer is to replace the power board.

Hi @oldturkey03 , Maybe you can use your mastery of finding service manual/schematics to find one for this board (TV?) as well ;-). Here’s the info from the board.

There are replacement boards with the pcb/pba numbers shown but it may also depend on what the barcode says - Rev. AA6? It showing up as a Y board or an X/Y main. Maybe it’s a Samsung Series 5 PS51 plasma series as there is an EH model in the range but the OP would need to verify the model number. Also not sure if the burn marks are more severe on the board to the right or on the Y board. (see arrows in image) It may have to be cleaned up to determine where it actually started from Hope all is well Cheers.
