Chosen Solution
The left speaker suddenly stopped working and I’m outside the US so RMA would be a pain. Anyway, rebooting, doing factory reset, and installing Windows to just test audio didn’t seem to fix the problem. Audio only plays on the right speaker no matter what OS. Audio via 3.55mm/Bluetooth works fine. This started happening after waking up the Steam Deck and all I get is a crackle from the right speaker. When I rebooted, there isn’t any audio playing on the left speaker though the crackling on the right speaker appears to have gone away. Does this mean the speaker itself is broken? I already have the speaker replacement arriving next week. Just want to make sure I’m on the right path? Thanks for your help.
“all I get is a crackle from the right speaker.” It sounds to me like either the cable is broken or the speaker is broken. It could be other things, but these are most likely. You should wait on some other thoughts/opinions too though.
