My Nikon D700 LCD screen suddenly quits.only black and grey lines can be seen on LCD..it all happened when my battery power pack displayed low battery.turned it off and took out batteries and replaced . Then when I power back on LCD started turning black then grey lines.now camera is unusable because the LCD monitor is out.
Sounds like the LCD connections are loose. Luckily, there is a service manual that shows how to open it. Nikon_d700.pdf Open it up, unlock the ZIF locks, clean the connections with a microfiber cloth, put the ZIF back in, flip down the lock, and you should be good to go! If that doesn’t fix it, it must be the logic board or LCD. Hope this helps!
