The screen on my DMC-FZ18 camera is scratched. I thought that it needed a new LCD, but after dismantling, I found that it is the “window” part of the rear case that has the scratch. Questions: Are replacement parts available?Is there an easy way to test whether it is plastic or glass?Is Cerium Oxide paste safe to use to polish out the scratches? Querty you can most certainly try and it should not make it worse. I use 1200 grit wet sandpaper to remove scratches on a acrylic aquarium and light cover. Afterward I use metal polish to buff it.
