Chosen Solution
Long story short, Western Digital drive crapped out before even a year. In the process of replacing not sure what happened but left side of the screen now has a grey box over it, aka broken LCD screen. The machine is my imac 27 late 2013. I disassembled LCD and its’ the LM270WQ1(SD)(F1) . Searching for this panel I found they are darn expensive, so much that its almost cheaper to just replace the whole machine! Are there other models with a difference suffix that are compatible?
Sadly you need the correct display for the 2012/13 models LM270WQ1 (SD)(F1) Either Apple P/N for 2012: 661-7169 or Apple P/N for 2013: 661-7885 A lot of people messed up these displays taking them off so finding a good display is getting hard. There just isn’t any alternatives.
