An internal piece of the SONY DVP NS315 DVD player, khm 270aaa is a laser optical CD and DVD player. Contains two adjustment keys to adjust, laser power adjustment variable resistors. Using the multimeter (20k OHM), what is the default value for each of these adjustment knobs?
there is no “default” as the purpose of pots is to account for component variations and wear. I believe one adjusts the reading intensity and the other the writing intensity. There is a procedure in the manual, but I always just tweaked the write slightly and tried it till it worked. That is usually the laser that gets weak.
