I got a 128GB Space Gray MacBook Pro 13” 2017 with function keys off of a friend who could only tell me that the laptop “started acting weird and glitching one day and then wouldn’t turn back on after I tried to reset it” I opened up the laptop and I couldn’t see any signs of water damage, and I tried disconnecting the battery for a while then plugging it back in and nothing. I’ve seen quite a few repair programs for this laptop, one of which mine is eligible for, but I was wondering what i could try before I go into the Apple Store. Or should I just go to the Apple store and not worry about it? I’ve seen people report free replacement under the SSD replacement program but I’m not sure what I can expect from that

You are sorta between a rock and a hard place here ;-{ Unless the system is functional Apple may hit you with a logic board and/or battery replacement fee. I do think it’s worth the effort to at least get an idea what they think. Let us know what they say.
