Coolpix L820 kills fresh batteries even when shut off in one day.

Hi @lostinvn , I’m thinking that the date and time rechargeable backup battery (aka clock battery) may be the cause of the problem. It maintains the camera’s settings when the camera is off and is kept charged by the main battery. If the batteries were removed then the camera settings would reset back to default after a few days, not after just a day or less. You could try connecting the camera to the charger (supplier example only) for about 10 hours and then disconnect the charger and check if the date and time has reset or how long it takes before it does or even if the batteries discharge as rapidly as before. The user manual states that it takes about 10 hours to charge the D&T battery. Here’s an image of the battery (which is soldered to the mainboard) taken from this teardown video. Unfortunately I cannot discern the battery type number (usually printed on the battery itself) from the video or find a service manual which would have the parts list.
